Fact and Fabrication is a Heritage Lottery Funded Community Project which looks at the Derwent Valley during World War I. Made possible by National Lottery players through HLF’s First World War ‘Then and Now’ programme, the project will focus on researching the communities living along the Derwent Valley during WWI and use their findings to create a touring textile exhibition.

The project will have three stages:

  1. Researching – we have scheduled visits and talks aimed to assist our volunteers in honing their research skills. This stage is well under
  2. Making –  the research gathered will be turned into a textile exhibition create by volunteers.
  3. Exhibiting – The finished exhibition will tour various location along the Derwent Valley from Darley Abbey to Matlock from October 2018 onwards to commemorate the Centenary of the end of the First World War.
